Brief 5 : Package

expanding on previous brief you are tasked with creating an imaginative an practical packaging design either for the same fictional company you have previously engaged with, or by proposing you own idea, accepted at your tutor discretion.

With packaging I was thinking of different things that you would find or get in a barbers shop. Which you can get: shampoo, conditioner, bard and moustache wax, shaving foam, shaving foam brush, soap, oil cares. There was also various other products. However with the barber’s it is very bottle product base.

When I went to start editing my logo on the image I wanted it to look like it was my product that had been taken a picture off in the studio. I also wanted to change some of the colours around.

First I went and looked at the label covers as I wanted some of the labels to be using some with black and some with white. With changing them all and putting the logo on and rounding it so that it looked like it is following the shape of the bottle I then added and shadow to the label. With in the original image you have the sign of a light sauce and the the shadow that is casting. so for me to make the labels fit with the image as you can see the shadow on the table the product are sitting on in put them into mine. This was a easy process with making my own gradient and structuring it to follow the light and the shadows.

With each of the label I made it own gradient with the shadows being different with some of the product casting shadows, on the products behind them. When looking at it all together I found that is all worked well and the shadows where placed correctly and the label showed definition.

Some of the labels on the larger bottles where empty when putting the logo on. For this I simply added a text box and added some filler text in.
